Mary Rose Henssler loves the American West. A recent transplant to Las Vegas, New Mexico, she spent most of her life in Nevada, in the small town of Battle Mountain, the larger town of Henderson, and among the glitz and glamour of neon-lit Las Vegas. Now, her heart most definitely lies in New Mexico, in the original Las Vegas, where she lives on six acres of land with her husband, Bob, dogs Shiloh and Gracie, and Rodney the cat.
Mary Rose has a degree in playwriting from Vermont College of Norwich University, and she also studied at the University of Idaho and Saint Dominic College. She also took scriptwriting classes at UNLV.
Her work experience includes advertising copywriting; writing news stories and taking photos for a small town paper; pumping gas and washing windshields; convenience store clerk; mill clerk and lab tech; paralegal; owner and operator of a bar; Reiki practitioner; insurance investigator; and insurance adjuster. These varied experiences provide rich background detail for her stories.
When she’s not writing, Mary Rose enjoys painting, photography, and being outdoors. This summer she plans to start a garden, and raise a few chickens.
