One of my childhood ambitions was to read every book ever written. Not just the books in our local library, mind you, but every book ever written by anyone, anywhere. When I learned of the destruction of the Great Library at Alexandria, I was heartbroken. Books had been lost that would now never be read.
As I got a little older, of course, I realized the impossibility of it all. There were simply too many books. No one person could read them all.
Somehow that understanding translated into a desire to write, to add to the mighty rivers and roads of stories, plays, poetry, novels and articles. If I couldn’t read them all, then I would add my own to the landscape.
If you get the chance to read something of mine, and if you choose to do so, my hope is that you will enjoy the ride.
